IAS-Accepting Nominations Gotto, Jr. Prize (DEADLINE JAN 15TH)
The International Atherosclerosis Society is very pleased to annouce the Antonio M. Gotto, Jr. Prize in Atherosclerosis Research which will be presented during the upcoming XVII International Symposium on Atherosclerosis, June 9-12, 2018 in Toronto, Canada.
The aim of the Gotto Prize is to encourage basic, clinical, and translational research in areas relating to the causes, prevention, and treatment of cardiovasular diseases globally. The award recipient will have provided and continues to privide outstanding scientific, medical, or organizational advancement in our ability to understand the causes and to reduce the development of atherosclerosis.
Past winners of this prize have been: Helen H. Hobbs, MD (2012) and M. John Chapman, PhD, DSc. (2015).
The Prize ($20,000) is sponsored by Weill Cornell Medical College and the International Atherosclerosis Society.
We would greatly appreciate your letting your membership know of this prestigious award and to encourage them to send their nominations, along with a short letter (no more than one page) in support of their candidates to the Selection Committee for its consideration, to GottoPrize@athero.org by Monday, January 15, 2018.
